Development of wireless system
Partner from Turkey is responsible for development of wireless measurement system for bee colony monitoring. Development of such system is not very trivial task, there are many technologies available for wireless measurements. To this moment (December, 2013) first prototype is developed for temperature and humidity measurements.

Start of indoor wintering
On 5 of December 20 bee colonies are placed in special wintering building (Strazdu iela 2, Jelgava, Latvia) for indoor wintering in controlled environment.
Involvement of private beekeeper
On 3 of December bee colony wired temperature measurement system was installed in one private apiary in Ozolnieki region, Brankas, Latvia.
10 colonies are involved in measurements of colony activity during winter period.
WEB system
On 1 of December first prototype of WEB system for bee colonies temperature measurement monitoring is published online.
Now there are measurements of past winter periods, real time data of colonies of one private beekeeper (LAT_003) and in near future (LAT_001) will demonstrate measurements of colonies in wintering building.
Apimondia
On 29 of September till 4 of October XXXXIII International Apicultural Congress was held in Kiev, Ukraine.
Latvian project members participated in this global event with presentation of the ITAPIC project.

Event in Berlin
On September the 3rd state secretary Dr.Robert Kloos presented the modest grant for our german project partner Dr. Uwe Richter in Berlin. ITApic project leader Prof. Egils Stalidzans was also present.The presentation was embedded in a conference of senior representatives from agricultural research, management, politics, business and practice to discuss mutual expectations and opportunities for cooperation at EU level.
